How much could your ETH earn if you put it to work? Since Ethereum switched to proof of stake, holders earn rewards by staking coins, not by mining them with graphics cards.
This Ethereum staking calculator turns three numbers into a simple income estimate. Enter your ETH amount, a staking APR, and an ETH price. You will see your rewards in ETH and in US dollars per year and per month. It suits solo stakers, pool users, and anyone comparing staking to other ways to hold crypto.

What This Calculator Does
- Three simple inputs: the ETH you stake, an estimated staking APR, and an ETH price in dollars.
- Annual ETH earned: your yearly reward in ETH, shown to four decimal places.
- Annual USD rewards: that ETH reward valued at the price you entered.
- Monthly USD earnings: the yearly dollar figure split evenly across 12 months.
- Private by design: all math runs in your browser, and nothing is saved or sent.
The tool loads with sample values of 32 ETH, 3.8% APR, and a $3,200 price. These are placeholders only, so replace them with your own figures.
How to Use the Calculator
- In ETH Staked, type how much ETH you plan to stake.
- In Estimated Staking APR (%), enter the yearly reward rate you expect. Use the rate after any provider fee.
- In Current ETH Price ($), enter the price you want to plan around.
- Click Calculate ETH Yield to update the three results.
Try a few prices and rates in a row. Seeing a range of outcomes is more useful than trusting a single estimate.
The Staking Reward Formula
The calculator uses a simple interest model. It multiplies your ETH by the APR, then values that reward at your chosen price.
ETH Staked×APR ÷ 100×ETH Price=Annual USD Rewards
- Annual ETH earned = ETH staked × (APR ÷ 100)
- Annual USD rewards = Annual ETH earned × ETH price
- Monthly USD earnings = Annual USD rewards ÷ 12
APR is the yearly rate without compounding. Rewards are not added back to your stake in this model.
Worked Example: Staking 10 ETH
Say you stake 10 ETH. You assume a hypothetical 3.5% APR and a hypothetical price of $2,500. These are sample inputs, not current market data.
- Annual ETH earned: 10 × 0.035 = 0.3500 ETH
- Annual USD rewards: 0.35 × $2,500 = $875.00
- Monthly USD earnings: $875.00 ÷ 12 = $72.92
Now keep the ETH and APR the same, but change the price. The ETH reward stays fixed, while the dollar value moves with the market.
| ETH Price | Annual ETH Earned | Annual USD Rewards | Monthly USD Earnings |
| $1,500 | 0.3500 ETH | $525.00 | $43.75 |
| $2,500 | 0.3500 ETH | $875.00 | $72.92 |
| $4,000 | 0.3500 ETH | $1,400.00 | $116.67 |
How to Read Your Results
- Annual ETH Earned is the number of new coins you could receive in a year. It depends only on your stake and the APR.
- Annual USD Rewards converts those coins to dollars at your entered price. It is a snapshot, not a forecast.
- Monthly USD Earnings is a smooth average. Real rewards arrive in uneven amounts and at different times.
To judge the full picture, also track the value of your staked ETH. A crypto profit and loss calculator shows how price changes affect the coins you already hold.
Can You Still Mine Ethereum?
No. Ethereum ended proof of work mining in The Merge in September 2022. Blocks are now proposed by validators who lock up ETH as stake.
That is why this page replaced the older Ethereum mining calculator. GPU rigs can no longer earn ETH from the network. If you want to estimate proof of work income, try the Bitcoin mining profit calculator.
Staking Risks and Costs to Know
Staking rewards are not a fixed rate. The network rate changes with the total amount of ETH staked and with transaction activity.
- Price risk: ETH can lose value faster than rewards add up. Your dollar return can turn negative.
- Entry options: running your own validator needs 32 ETH. Pools and liquid staking let you start with less.
- Fees: pools, exchanges, and liquid staking services usually keep a share of your rewards.
- Lock-ups and queues: exiting a validator can take days or longer when the queue is busy.
- Slashing and penalties: validators that break network rules can lose part of their stake. Downtime also costs small penalties.
- Provider risk: liquid staking tokens rely on smart contracts and can trade below the value of ETH.
- Taxes: in the US, the IRS generally treats staking rewards as income when you gain control of them.
To account for fees, enter a net APR. For example, a 20% fee on a 3.5% rate leaves 2.8%. With 10 ETH at $2,500, that gives 0.2800 ETH, $700.00 a year, and $58.33 a month. To compare that return with other options, run the same numbers through a return on investment calculator.
Limitations and Assumptions
- No compounding: the tool treats APR as simple interest. Restaking rewards would earn a bit more, which a compound growth calculator can model.
- Fixed inputs: APR and price are held constant for the whole year. Real values change daily.
- No live data: the tool does not fetch prices or network rates. You supply every number.
- No fee or tax fields: enter a net APR yourself and plan for taxes separately.
- Short time frame: results cover one year and one month only, with no daily or multi-year view.
- Silent checks: if ETH staked or price is zero or blank, the results do not update. Check your inputs if nothing changes.
FAQs About the Ethereum Staking Calculator
What APR Should I Enter?
Use the rate your validator, pool, or exchange shows, after its fee. Rates change, so test a low, middle, and high case.
Is APR the Same as APY?
No. APR ignores compounding, while APY includes it. Use an APR to APY converter to compare quoted rates fairly.
Do I Need 32 ETH to Stake?
Only to run your own validator. Staking pools, exchanges, and liquid staking services accept smaller amounts, usually for a fee.
Why Does My Monthly Estimate Differ From Real Payouts?
The tool divides the yearly figure by 12. Real rewards vary with network activity, validator luck, and the ETH price on each day.
Can I Lose Money Staking Ethereum?
Yes. A falling ETH price, slashing, provider failures, or fees can all reduce your result. Staking rewards do not protect your principal.
Are Ethereum Staking Rewards Taxable?
In the US, staking rewards are generally taxed as income at their fair market value when received. Selling the ETH later can also create a capital gain or loss.
